All Dolled Up

One of my fav signers, turned designer, Gwen Stefani rocks.  She has an amazing flair for street-wise, multicultural style with couture-like touches. It's no secret that she's fascinated by the whimsical style of girls in Tokyo's Harajuku area.  They've inspired her music, a streetwear apparel line, handbags, and now fragrance.

best-beauty-blog-gwenstefani.jpgNaturally, my interest piqued when found out the Harajuku Girls are coming to life this fall at cosmetic counters.  The unique, doll-like bottles are based on four of her real-life backup singers, Love, Angel, Music and Baby, and their fearlss leader, G; each with it's own personality and sense of style.  The packaging is meticulously crafted with hand-applied detailing and an outter box that gives each dolls backstory.  It's no doubt, industry analysts suggest the line could hit $30 million at retail globally.

The scents will each be available in two sizes: $45 for 30 ml. and $25 for 10 ml. A coffret, which includes solid perfume versions of all five, will be on counter later this fall as a permanent addition to the collection, and will retail for $60.
