Thierry Mugler, the fashion designer and ethereal fragnceer, launched his first ever color cosmetics line, The Art of Metamorphosis.  The line examines light and shadow with color-correcting pigments in foundation, eye compacts, lip lacquers, cheeky stains and more.  Find the line at Bloomingdale's in the U.S. (not yet available online) as well as in department stores throughout Australia, Indonesia and Europe.   

I love a really good body scrub, one that absorbs quickly and easily into your skin, leaving it moisturized and protected without feeling the slight bit greasy.  When I know I have something to look forward to in the morning shower, getting up early seems much easier.  Enter, LaLicious Sugar Scrub Souffle, $32.  I've tried a few scents -peppermint, coffee bean, wild blackberry- and have not been disappointed.  They come in big, 16oz tubs that seems to last forever.  Along with new packaging and paraben-free formulas, new for spring is the Brown Sugar variety.   It's a delicious blend of sweet brown sugar with a hint of spice.  It's especially divine paired with the Coconut Cream Body Butter, $22.  LaLicious is available through spas and select retailers nationwide.  

The previously launched Calvin Klein Cosmetics, circa 2000, was a big let down.  Personally, I loved the modern packaging, though I wasn't a fan of the textures and seemingly boring shades.   If at first you don't succeed, try again.  Enter the newest evolution of Calvin Klein, ck Calvin Klein Beauty.  Under current company owner, Phillips-Van Heusen, the line provides modern concepts of color and texture.  ck Calvin Klein Beauty debut in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Italy and France.   The line can also be purchased online at Sephora and in select Macy's and Dillard's stores across the U.S.   Fashion.,  Fragrance.  and now, Face.

Treat Beauty, the indie beauty brand that keeps Amazon.com beauty section sweet, introduced Candy Color Stain, $18.  Created to nourish lips and cheeks with soothing ingredients including shea butter and rosehip while leaving behind a gorgeous stain of candy-kissed color.  To apply, simply dab lightly on your lips and cheeks for a sheer wash of color.   The three flavors: Black Cherry, Raspberry and Plum are both paraben and preservative free.  

Donna Karan introduced two new fragrances based on the sweet aromas of red and green apples for summer.  Be Delicious Charmingly Delicious EDT in a ripe, green bottle and has a dewy, citrus aroma.  Red Delicious Charmingly Delicious EDT, on the other hand is centered around  --yes, you guessed it, red fruits and vanilla.  ...Enough with the apples  already.

When will the madness stop?  I, for one am glad can flip through a magazine without seeing Paris Hilton on every, single page.  Now, I hear, mama Hilton is launching a scent of her own.  My Secret by Kathy Hilton includes notes of mandarin, white freesia, rose, sandalwood, and vanilla musk.  Eww, it sounds like my moms dime-store favorite from 1980.  The launch comes just in time for Mother's Day and hark, features a contest with the grand-prize of a mother-daughter trip to LA to meet all three Hilton lovelies, Kathy, Paris ad Nicky.    I can hear the mindless banter now -- so not hot.
