DIY Spa Treatment: Warming Choco Chai Body Scrub

My daughters and I devised this wonderful recipe for a contest over at Indie Beauty. We had a lot of fun playing with all the ingredients until we found one we all agreed on -- no easy feat!

Warming Choco Chai Body Scrub

This savory pick-me-up is the perfect way to start your day! Envelop your body in a warming, aromatic mix of eastern spices and herbs, including cardamom, cinnamon and cloves, steeped in a base of black tea, milk and sugar. This delightfully textured sugar scrub enhances the circulation, warms the skin and gently exfoliates your skin, leaving your body feeling soft and delectable. Therapeutic actives warm as you rub, leaving you craving more-- it's difficult to resist a second scrub!

1 tbsp. finely ground cocoa powder
1 tbsp. milk
1 tbsp. vanilla extract
3 tbsp. sweet almond oil
a pinch of cinnamon, cardamom, clove or 1/4 tsp. essential oils
2 black tea bags
2 cups turbindo sugar

1. Place all the dry ingredients in a large bowl & mix thoroughly.
2. Steep black tea bags in 1/4 cup hot water. Add wet ingredients to the black tea and whip together.
3.Slowly drizzle wet mixture on dry ingredients to make a fine, crumbly mixture. Do not use too much liquid, or you will end up with a gooey mess.
4. Take a small handful of the body scrub and scrub vigorously with circular movements all over the body.

Enjoy!

If you give it a try, please let me know what you think.
