best-beauty-blog-grapejuie.jpgSince going lighter in blonde and blonder, I've been stressing on how to keep my 'honey wheat' highlights from getting the fugly orange glow.  His ears must have been burning this morning, as I just received the best tip from Shawn La’Yave, celebrity hair colorist and stylist at DEX New York.  "If your blonde went brassy, you can create your own at-home violet shampoo to brighten your dull color by adding 3 tablespoons of grape juice concentrate to your favorite shampoo. It will cancel out any warm, dull tones”, says Shawn.  My husband already thinks I'm beauty deranged so I'll have to wait until he leaves for the office.  15 minutes later, I'm in the shower pouring my kids Welch's Concord Grape juice all over my hair.  The crazy things we do to look good...

For brunettes, I heard you can rinse with coffee. It makes your hair shiny and helps darken the shades. :)
